In kitchen design, structural beams & pillars can be obstructive problems that need to be considered when formulating plans for the best use of space. Here, the kitchen island was constructed around this central structural column & the rest of the scheme was kept sleek with flat cabinet doors, crisp white Corian work surfaces & knurled brass handles & made pretty with pink tiling & upholstery.
